The Italian Stock Exchange (Borsa Italiana) runs Italian equities and derivatives markets. The exchange merged with the London Stock Exchange (LSE) in 2007 to form the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).
Borsa Italiana facilitates fully electronic trading and real-time trade execution in stocks, ETFs, ETCs, ETNs, funds, derivatives, certificates and bonds. Trading on Borsa Italiana is powered by the MillenniumIT platform for cash markets and the SOLA platform for the trading of derivatives.
The Italian Derivatives Market (IDEM), a top European equity derivatives market, combines two segments, IDEM Equity for the trading of index and single-name listed futures and options, and IDEX for the trading of Italian power futures. IDEM is structured as a hybrid market, merging electronic trading with market maker support. Cassa di Compensazione e Garanzia (CC&G), also part of the LSEG, is the Italian clearing house for trades executed on the IDEM market and the cash market.
Monte Titoli, a European provider of post-trading services and the Italian Central Securities Depository, provides pre-settlement, settlement, custody, asset servicing and collateral management services on domestic and cross border securities.
