Adding IRA Trust Accounts
U.S. Advisors can add IRA Trust accounts as client accounts. An IRA Trust Account is an IRA account held at a designated Third Party Trustee.
Adding an IRA Trust Account requires the following steps:
- Add a Third Party Custodian from the Investors' Marketplace > Advertise Services > Third Party Custodianpage in Account Management.
- Complete a brief Third Party Custodian application.
- Submit a letter or other form of documentation to Interactive Brokers that proves the relationship between the Advisor and the Third Party Custodian.
- While IB approves the letter or documentation, the new Third Party Custodian appears in the list on the Third Party Custodian page.
- Once the proof has been accepted by IB, send an invitation to an IRA Asset Trust client from the Manage Clients > Create and Link Accounts > Create > New page to start a fully electronic account application.
